Help us reach our goal!

Being involved with the United Way is our way of supporting Marion County 20 times. The United Way needs you too!

You can get involved by providing a monetary donation, volunteering time or attending and supporting United Way events and fundraisers.

When you give to the United Way, you are supporting community organizations that assist both children and the elderly. You are also helping victims of abuse, those in need of temporary assistance as well as character building programs for our youth.

We look forward to doing what matters in Marion County... helping them soar!

Why it Matters

Our Families...

Your family is one of the most important things in your life. You work hard to build strong ties and to financially and emotionally support those you love. What would you do in a time of unpreventable hardship? Where could you go for assistance with food, shelter or support for an emergency? ---The United Way of Marion County and its 22 member agencies is where you would turn. We are here to help your family and other families just like yours. Contributing to the United Way will not only ensure support for those currently in need, but it also enables us to continue providing aid to families who will utilize it in the future.

Our Community...

The United Way of Marion County has integral value in this community. Services that our agencies provide are one-of-a-kind. HOPE, Inc. is the only domestic violence shelter in Marion County; CASA of Marion County provides unique services through the court system for abused/neglected children and The Connecting Link is the only Information and Referral source in the area that also provides emergency assistance. Our agencies are a strong body of support for Marion County. Another important reason to give to the United Way of Marion County is that ALL contributions remain in this community, where your friends, neighbors or maybe even you can benefit.

Our Future...

It is true, children are the hope of our future. The roads we pave today will alter the lives of, not only ourselves, but our children and grandchildren. The United Way of Marion County has numerous youth agencies who specialize in activities and services solely focused on children. Big Brothers Big Sisters works to provide children with adult mentors to help steer them in the right direction; and the YWCA sponsors Y-Teens, a school-based club that teaches young women to be strong vital members of the community. Your donations provide support for youth agencies to positively influence a child's life, thereby securing their future.

How it Matters

It doesn’t take much to make a world of difference. More than 60% of our campaign is made through workplace campaigns. You can pledge a flat sum or have it deducted from your payroll each pay period.

  • $5.00 provides the means for a Y-Teen from the YWCA to visit a nursing facility and conduct an intergenerational activity.
  • $10.00 pays for one flu shot provided by Milan Puskar HealthRight.
  • $25.00 ensures that the Salvation Army is able to provide a senior citizen with the medication he/she needs.
  • $45.00* sponsors a child with developmental disabilities from ARC, to participate on a baseball team at Miracle Field.

*Be a member of the Leardership Circle. Gifts totalling $500 or more ensure you a spot in the circle.

You can also make a pledge or direct gift to the United Way with a check, money order, Visa/Master Card payment, direct debit or through PayPal by clicking here.
